If you lose your physical license — or just need another copy — log into GoOutdoorsTennessee.com and select “Reprint My License”. This reprints all active licenses at no charge. You can also:
- Have the license re-sent to your email from your account
- Access it through the Go Outdoors TN app (your license is always stored digitally)
Through a License Agent
Any licensed agent can issue a replacement copy. If you need a physical hard copy from a TWRA office, the fee is $8. Online digital reprints remain free.
Important Notes
- Your license number and record are permanently stored in the TWRA system — a lost license doesn’t mean lost privileges
- Replacement copies have the same validity dates as your original
- There is no limit to how many times you can reprint your digital license
- A Social Security Number is required for all U.S. citizens to purchase or replace a Tennessee fishing license

Updating Personal Information
Life changes require license updates:
Address Change
Update your address through GoOutdoorsTennessee.com or by contacting TWRA. Your license remains valid during the address change process.
Name Change
Contact TWRA directly at 615-781-6500 to update your name on your license record. You’ll need supporting documentation (marriage certificate, court order, etc.).
Upgrading Your License
You can add supplemental licenses (like the Trout Supplement) at any time through GoOutdoorsTennessee.com. The supplemental expires on the same date as your base license.
Common Renewal Problems (and How to Fix Them)
“I Can’t Log In to GoOutdoorsTennessee”
The system uses Date of Birth + last 4 digits of SSN as the default login. If this fails:
- Try your Driver’s License number instead
- Try your TWRA Customer ID (printed on previous licenses)
- If you’ve never purchased online, you may need to create a new online account linked to your existing license record
- Call 1-888-891-8972 during business hours for system access issues
”My License Expired and I Didn’t Notice”
Tennessee has no grace period. If your license expired:
